Airborne.
Urrao, Antioquia. 2001. When Rigoberto Urán was only 14 years old, his father was gunned down in the streets of Urrao, Colombia. Rigoberto’s father was an innocent victim, as shots rang out in the small Colombian town. Most said it was paramilitary forces who began shooting, but considering the mood in Colombia at the time, it could have been any number of groups, for any number of reasons. As Urán himself has said in the past, “…it was how things were back then. Many innocent people died.” Encouraged by his father, Rigoberto had completed his first bike race just three months earlier.

La Vuelta | Stage 21
Final day of the Vuelta and Ruben Plaza decided to forego the morning ritual of tucking his hair under his helmet.

La Vuelta | Stage 9
David Lopez winning the stage. There are five Caisse d’Epargne guys in top twenty - impressively strong as always in the Vuelta. Can’t figure out who is the team’s choice for the overall or if they are all just going to have a go and see how it works out.
