The seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong got caught up in not one, not two, but three crashes in Stage 8 of the 2010 Tour. Armstrong’s chances for an eighth title were effectively dashed as he lost crucial minutes in the chase for the yellow jersey.

  8. agentburtmacklinonthecase said: I agree with you. Contador had every right to attack him, it's a race. I do believe that if Frank Schleck didn't crash in stage 3 he would've help Andy win and people wouldn't be arguing about this.

The real damage was done with the prologue which is where Andy lost so much time to begin with.  I agree though that Frank was strong last year and would have been a great help to Andy.

But still, this is a different year! We’ve already have the unsafe route debate and race neutralisation redux - let’s hope we don’t go revisiting chaingate!

    (co-mod natalie chiming in!)

Edit: Can i ask that anyone wanting to talk about this does so via the comments and not by submitting a post? We really appreciate all interaction and thoughts but comments work better for this than multiple posts about what happened last year.  Thank you very much!

  9. The above Bert and Andy Tourmalet hug was one of the most popular pictures on fuckyeahcycling last year.  We are very much looking forward to this year’s race and the memories and pictures it will leave us with.
Tumblr isn’t every good at archiving old information so this is inevitably inaccurate but here are a few other pictures that were enjoyed during last year’s Tour de France:
Artsy wheels shot
The brazen mountain sheepgoat
Robbie McEwen’s wheelie across the finish line on the Tourmalet
Schleck bros reunited on the Champs Elysees
Marauding sheep on the Col du Soulour
Armstrong’s battered jersey
Honourable mentions to: sad Tyler, combo jersey fashion crime, Menchov is a gooseberry.  Personal favourites: hot days, Sylvain and Jerome bed bouncing.
