We’re no strangers to Velodromes here at McKay Flooring having recently installed over 2,000m2 of Junckers sports flooring at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and National Sports Arena in Glasgow so we were intrigued to came across this wonderful idea from Amsterdam design firm NL Architects who have come up with the novel idea of combining a cafe with a velodrome to produce ‘Bicycle Club‘, a rooftop cafe/velodrome in southern China. The architects were asked by a developer to design a bike rental building for a resort in the Hainan province. After some research they proposed a pagoda-style roof perched atop a simple glass box with a cycle track on the roof! (via ‘Bicycle Club’ - Up On The Roof - McKay Flooring Blog)
