More fodder for discussion! Strange moments in the final kilometres as Wiggins and Froome were seen to be chatting then Froome looked as if he would pull away only to sit up and wait for his team leader.  There was lots of gesticulating from Froome as if he was trying to urge Wiggins on and/or show frustration at being held back.

Nothing was indicated in any immediate post-stage interviews.  Froome was the team player, saying the stage win wasn’t a goal and keeping Nibali at bay was.  Wiggins said he had told Froome to go for the win and also that mentally he’d checked out as he realised he (Bradley) might win the Tour.

Post-stage soundbites sound decent but on the road? It looked really awkward.  He did however do exactly what he was paid to do and that’s look after his leader.
